How to use resistor decade tables Use the values in the table as shown.įor larger values multiply the data by 10x, x, x and so on to get the desired value. Although the price difference is less than a tenth of a cent, the savings might not out-weigh the stocking cost. The same could be true for 10 percent resistors, with a company only stocking 5 percent values. So many companies may not even have circuit designs that contain 5 percent resistor values. Stocking only one type is more cost effective than stocking both 1 and 5 percent values, even if the 1 percent resistors cost more. However any other resistor value will be non-standard and not preferred. The 'type' used above are different for metric designations. The table provides dimensions in mm, the 'Type' is the English designation. Pick the smallest possible package size which still meets the design criteria. The smaller the physical part, the lower the inductance. The common values for capacitors or standard wattage size for resistors are shown for each EIA component type.
